For The STI Project’s first ever college appearance, Michigan State University (Go Green!) asked us to drop by and answer a few questions for the listeners of their radio station: Impact 89FM!
Impact 89FM is a student-run radio station broadcasting from the campus of Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI. During the day, the Impact plays a great mix of alternative, indie, and rock music. In the evenings, they make way for a variety of talk shows and specialty music shows.
Emanuele Berry interviewed me for the award-winning radio program Impact Exposure.
The interview went swimmingly!! In total, it was about 10 minutes long and I’m always amazed at how fast the time goes when I’m put on the spot!
You can listen to the interview here: Entire Show including The STI Project.
The entire show is excellent (they’ve won an award almost every year for the past decade), but if you’re in a crunch for time, The STI Project comes in at 4:45 min and is finished by 17:45 min.
I have an opportunity to return as a panel member on their Sexposure show which airs as an occasional replacement to the regularly scheduled Exposure. It’s so much fun doing these interviews and I can’t wait to see what comes of this unique opportunity.
College students are one of the populations most affected by STDs; a chance to reach them directly via radio interviews and speaking engagements is crucial.
Needless to say, I’m very much looking forward to what the future brings as I believe this the very beginning of a much large movement toward communication, education, and eradication of the stigma surrounding STDs.
